Presbyopia is not a disease. It is simply a normal part of the aging process.

The gradual loss of your eyes' ability to focus easily on nearby objects is most likely a common condition called presbyopia - this is basically the deterioration of vision due to ageing. As we enter our forties, most of us will experience some change in our eyesight - for instance, you might notice you're adjusting the distance you hold the newspaper in order to find focus.

Until the time comes when we may require prescription glasses, ready reading glasses are all that we need - pure magnification that is safe, and produced to stringent industry standards (beware of cheap mock reading glasses!).

EasiReaders have created a simple reading card which you'll find in-store, and this will quickly establish if you'll benefit from reading glasses. All you have to do is check out the card on our stylish stand at your local stockist, try on a few pairs of EasiReaders to work out which magnification you require, then choose the style (or styles!) you love the most.

If you've never worn prescription lenses and you find your vision is deteriorating, it is sensible to have an eye check with an optometrist.

The health of your eyes is important, but rest assured that presbyopia is a condition that will affect everyone in varying degrees at some point in their lives.
